Our mission is to empower individuals to achieve their maximum capabilities and lead fulfilling lives. Eliminate all barriers to creative and economic opportunities for underrepresented communities by providing arts education, life skills, career training and mentoring programs.
The Artist Collective, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2005 by Robert Gilliam provides a creative outlet for minority artists, underserved communities and underfunded arts programs in Los Angeles.
We offer a comprehensive arts instruction program that covers a wide range of topics, including dance, art, spoken word, urban arts, modeling, and much more. Our program is designed to be accessible to students of all ages, abilities and skill levels, and we place a strong emphasis on creativity, self-expression, and freedom of artistic exploration.
We believe in uplifting people to their highest potential, spreading joy in education, collaboration, and uplifting self and others as the key to shifting the balance of disproportionate inequities in the creative industry.
We Believe In
Every child deserves a chance to live to their highest potential. Our priority is in providing a supportive, safe and loving environment so kids feel comfortable to express themselves and shine. We offer a variety of class formats, special events, school productions, and professional performances throughout the year.
How We Do it
We work in collaboration with diverse talents of the creative industry and create a climate that encourages community and positive interactions. We work to shift the playing field by offering opportunities to expand knowledge, training and networks. We give marginalized individuals the skills, knowledge and connections to be seen and heard.
We work in collaboration with diverse talent and organizations of different facets of the creative industry. Help us prepare youth with training, resources, motivation and career opportunities to bring equity to the industry. Donate your time or expertise.
